DeJean services include capital lump sum and time and material as well as full time maintenance and supplementary maintenance contracts. DeJean is also well known for peak production in manufacturing facilities on a time and material basis. Current contracts are mostly time and material and cost reimbursable; however the addition of Lump Sum contracts has lead to a successful reputation that is second to none. DeJean is most comfortable with projects that do not exceed $10M in Construction Labor and Material Dollars and smaller. There has not been a project too small for DeJean to perform.
Ownership
DeJean Construction Company, Inc., the parent of several entities, was founded in 1960 and later incorporated in 1980 and specializes in "Union New Construction". In 1985 DeJean Contract Maintenance, Inc. was incorporated for the purpose of providing "Union Maintenance" services to the industrial market. In 1986 DeJean Company – Service & Maintenance, Inc. was incorporated to provide open shop new construction projects as well as maintenance services to the industry.
In August of 1989 Foster Jordan, former VP of the International Construction Division of Brown and Root, acquired DeJean Construction Company, related subsidiaries and affiliates from the founder. In 1993 Larry Cunningham, formerly a Project Engineer with Brown and Root and subsequently a Project Manager for a local commercial construction company, joined Foster and became a 49% shareholder as well as President and General Manager of the operating companies. Under the leadership of Misters Jordan and Cunningham the company has expanded the geographical area of operation from Texas City to include Southeast Texas, Louisiana and specific needs in other states as well as internationally. The company successfully increased annual revenues from approximately $4M to more than $25M. They have successfully retained many of the original management staff members including field supervisors and craftsmen.
In 2002 DeJean Companies incorporated several new entities for the special purpose ventures. These companies include ISC Staffing, Champion General Services and Dream Builders. These companies are currently not in service but the companies are still active.
